Golf Course Application Instructions

Please contact your VF3 Account Executive to get course instructions for the Bokashi Tea application.

Your Bokashi Tea by VF3 Mix

The recommended bokashi tea mix is one gallon of bokashi tea to twenty gallons of good (low in chlorine) water per acre.

For this example we are spraying 4 acres.

  • Dose recommendation 1 gallon tea to one acre of land which requires 20 gallons of water per acre

  • 4 acres x 20 gallons of water = 80 gallons water

  • 4 gallons of bokashi tea + 80 gallons of water =Total spray solution = 84 gallons

Spray volume per acre:

84 gallons ÷ 4 acres=21 gallons per acre
That is a low-volume biological spray, which is very typical for microbial applications.

Estimated Time to Spray 4 Acres: 40–60 minutes total spray time

Breakdown:

  • Actual spraying: ~30–40 minutes

  • Turning, refill positioning, adjustments: 10–20 minutes

Simple Rule Turf Managers Use, A common planning rule:

≈ 10–15 minutes per acre for liquid applications.

So:
4 acres×10–15 minutes = 40–60 minutes 4 \text{ acres} \times 10–15 \text{ minutes} = 40–60 \text{ minutes}4 acres×10–15 minutes=40–60 minutes

Typical Golf Course Sprayer Output:

Most golf courses use:

  • Toro, John Deere, or Cushman turf sprayers

  • Boom width: 15–20 feet

  • Speed: 4–6 mph

  • Output: 15–40 gallons per acre

Your 21 GPA fits perfectly within normal operating range.

Factors That Change Time Faster

  • Wide fairways

  • GPS-guided sprayer

  • Experienced operator

  • Flat terrain

Factors That Change Time Slower

  • Greens or tight areas

  • Obstacles/trees

  • Wind adjustments

  • Calibration checks

Your mix rate equals:

  • 1 gallon bokashi tea concentrate per acre

  • Applied at ~21 GPA carrier volume

This is actually a very efficient biological application rate, meaning:

  • Low labor cost

  • Minimal water hauling

  • Easy integration into superintendent’s existing spray schedule
